In September, a female pedestrian was struck at this intersection. She was thrown into the air and badly injured. This occurred at night. The driver was traveling too quickly and did not see the pedestrian crossing the street in the crosswalk.

My name is Jacob Perez and I work with The Berkeley Project. We noted that you have previously collaborated with us, and we would love to invite you to participate in our upcoming event.


This fall, Berkeley Project Day will be held on November 5th, 2022. Our goal is to plan a variety of volunteer sites that involve clean-up, construction, and community enrichment, with the primary aim of trying to bridge the gap between the Cal and greater Berkeley communities through active participation. Whether our volunteers are working side-by-side with community members or assisting in improving the safety and conditions of the city, we hope we can help your organization with our service.


More specifically, each site will have however many volunteers you would like to assist you in completing a project. Volunteers usually work from 9:30 AM to 3 PM and have a Site Leader(s) assigned to make sure that they stay on task throughout the day. This Site Leader will also meet with you prior to the event day to better understand the details and community impact of the specific project.


Please keep in mind that most of our volunteers will be college students and community members, so we aim to partner with sites that offer safe and comfortable working environments for our volunteers. (ex. No biohazardous pickup)

I did one of the focus groups, and the city wants to attach affordable housing to the Infrastructure plan. the cost would be on the shoulders of homeowners. Very loud parties in house in a residential neighborhood (Etna Street) – Is this legal? We’re having to call the police after 11 PM as it is impossible to sleep!
